It ran a series of tests on the Pixel Fold, including scratch and dust resistance. But even during the fire test, the phone turned off due to high temperatures on the internal display.
The critical moment for the device was the bending test. This is where Pixel Fold fails. The frame of the phone succumbed to the area where the antenna lines were, causing the device to break and break in half.
Note that the hinge that Google considers the “most durable” makes no mistakes and passes the test. But the rest of the phone failed.
