The first domestic electric motorcycle was developed in Russia. Aurus Merlon can travel up to 200 km on a single battery charge. Serial production of the motorcycle will begin in 2024.

Russia has developed the first domestic electric motorcycle

The Scientific and Engineering Center of the Transport Industry “NAMI” has developed the first electric motorcycle in Russia. This was reported by the Department of Investments and Industrial Policy of Moscow.

The localization level of electric motorcycle production reaches 80%. A high-voltage traction battery, a complex power control system, bodywork elements and other details were developed at the NAMI facility.

Aurus Merlon is equipped with ABS and traction control, heated steering wheel and handles, windshield adjustment, touch-sensitive dashboard, fast charging function.

The electric motorcycle can be used at air temperatures of up to 25 degrees below zero. On a single charge, Aurus Merlon can travel up to 200 km.
