RTM Group, a company specializing in information security services, conducted a study on the security of Russian users’ passwords.

The experts concluded that about 65% of passwords can be calculated using brute force in just one minute. They came to such cases after analyzing more than 50 million login-password pairs that leaked to the darknet from January 2022 to May 2023.

The simplest passwords (6 characters and alphabetic letters) are used to protect their accounts. In 50% of cases there were such cases of detection of big business, and in the other – slightly more complex passwords (8 characters, uppercase and lowercase letters). Modern systems, hacked into existing codes, have a few minutes left.

The most complex passwords are included in large companies, but only 5% of such codes. Almost all of them are at least 12 characters long, most of which are special characters (brackets, percentages, currency signs, and so on). [Газета.Ru]
