Water with a high calcium and magnesium content, when heated and evaporated, forms deposits, which are a hard deposit on the walls of heating equipment. Gastroenterologist Alla Nerullina explained that the scale itself is not dangerous to health, but creates a favorable environment for the growth of bacteria and the accumulation of harmful substances. In addition, lime can spoil the taste of the water and make it difficult to brew the tea.

It is recommended to use citric acid to remove scale from the kettle. The doctor suggested the following method: dilute 100 grams of citric acid in a liter of water, bring the solution to a boil and leave for an hour. Then rinse the kettle thoroughly. This method is considered effective and safe.

The gastroenterologist emphasized that lime water can spoil the taste of hot drinks, so it is not recommended to use it in tea making. It can slow the release of aromas and flavors from tea leaves and take longer to brew.

In order to preserve the taste of the water and prevent bacterial growth, it is important to take care of the kettle’s cleanliness and remove limescale immediately. Citric acid is a simple and affordable solution for dealing with limescale.
