Since the end of 2022, Russian gamers began to buy expensive games more often. At the same time, the number of people who do not buy games also increased to 43%. TASS writes about this with reference to SberMarketing, Index Check and the media holding Rambler & Co.

Russian gamers began to buy more expensive games more frequently.

Gamers in Russia in 2023 began to buy games costing from 1 to 5 thousand rubles more often by 20%, while spending on products with a price of up to 1 thousand rubles decreased almost proportionally.

Games that cost more than 5,000 and more than 10,000 rubles also gained popularity, but not much – they were bought more often by 3% and 1%, respectively.

Overall, gamers buy games once a month: the number increased by 12% to 28%, and those who buy games multiple times a month decreased by 9%.

The proportion of pirates among Russian players has increased to 70%. Nearly a third of gamers used up to three pirated copies of PC games in one year. “Hacking” is mainly explained by the exit of the largest game studios in Russia.

  • Russian e-sportsmen will be able to receive sports ranks and titles in the discipline of “3D tactical combat”. Titles will be awarded for World of Tanks competitions. They will be held jointly by Lesta Games on the VK Play platform.
