Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault has surpassed Elon Musk in Forbes’ ranking of the world’s richest people. The Tesla CEO slipped to number two after his company’s shares fell more than 7% this week.
At the moment, Forbes estimates the Arno family fortune to be $237.3 billion, while Musk’s net worth is $236.5 billion.
At the same time, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, the American businessman remains the richest billionaire with a fortune of $232 billion to Arno’s $204 billion. According to the agency’s rating, Elon Musk got ahead of the French businessman earlier this summer.
Tesla shares fell more than 7% this week, according to Forbes, causing Musk, who owns a 23% stake in the company, to lose a fortune of $21.2 billion. Now the cost of one share of the electric car manufacturer is $260.
Bernard Arnault returned to the top of the Forbes ranking for the first time since late June, when the American billionaire surpassed him when Tesla shares rose.
The third place in the list of the richest businessmen is the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos. His net worth is estimated at $152.7 billion, almost $80 billion less than Arno and Musk.
