Russian online cinemas have earned 9 billion rubles on series of their own production in the first half of the year. The platforms began to develop this niche after the departure of foreign content, according to TelecomDaily data cited by RBC.
According to the results of the first half of the year, the more.tv service became a leader in the field of content licensing: it accounts for 20.9% of market revenue from the sale of rights to its content and partnership agreements. In second place is Start with a share of 17.7%. Closes the top three “Kinopoisk” – 17.3%.
- Three of the nine Russian online cinemas increased their content access fees over the past year. Thus, the greatest price dynamics – plus 50% – up to 299 rubles per month for a subscription – was recorded at Kinopoisk, by 25% – up to 249 rubles per month – Kion services have risen in price. The only online cinema that did not go up, but reduced the cost of a subscription compared to the first half of 2022, was Tricolor Cine y TV.
