Sberbank increased the yield on ruble deposits. The maximum rate on them since August 17 is now 12% per year.

Sberbank raises the maximum deposit rate to 12%

The rate on SberDeposits and the Manage line is 11.26% per annum on the SberDeposit Prime Leader deposit when it is opened for 2 months in the amount of 100 thousand rubles and 8.31% per annum on the Leader Manage+ deposit when opening a deposit in the amount of 10 million rubles for three months.

  • Sberbank earned a record 727.8 billion rubles in the first half of the year. The country’s largest bank recorded the previous maximum profit in 2021, when it earned 594.8 billion rubles in the first six months; now profits are 22% higher.
  • On August 15, at an extraordinary meeting, the Bank of Russia decided to raise the reference rate to 12% per annum. The decision was made in order to limit the risks to price stability. In July, the Central Bank raised the reference rate by 100 basis points for the first time since September 2022, to 8.5% per year. Prior to this, the regulator held the key rate at 7.5% six times in a row.
