In August 2023, demand for IT specialists increased 3.7 times compared to last year, and salaries in this field also increased. According to Avito Rabota, the recommended average salary in the IT industry reached 60,503 rubles per month, an increase of 23% compared to a year ago. Job salaries vary and, for example, front-end developers are offered up to 300 thousand rubles per month.
Demand for PC operators (3.2 times) and computer technicians (1.9 times) also increased. Their salaries also increased by 50% and 20% respectively. Programmers are also in demand 1.3 times more often and their salary has increased by 15%.
The study also showed that employers in the IT industry are interested in professionals with both tertiary and secondary vocational education. According to a survey of more than 10 thousand Russian employees, 67% of IT sector representatives believe that secondary vocational education in this field is promising.
However, despite the growth of the staff base, the lack of developers in Russia is estimated at 500-700 thousand people. Maksut Shadayev, head of the Ministry of Digital Development, said that nevertheless, the information technology industry continues to develop rapidly, and sales of Russian IT solutions increased by 22% last year.
