Former engineers Bose N.B. Patil, Charles, and Brian Mulcahy started a small start-up called Ozlo and acquired the rights to the Sleepbuds trademark.
Under this brand, special sleep headphones were released, but as of 2019 their sale is limited. Now Ozlo wants to restore the brand.
The new version of the accessory has “biometric sensing technology to measure your movements and breathing while you are in bed to determine when you have fallen asleep and help determine the state of sleep.” They have completely replaced batteries and other components to avoid any of the problems that Bose has experienced in the past.
The headphones have built-in light, sound and temperature sensors. They define the environment in which the user is located and adapt to it. All data is stored in a proprietary application and is not transferred anywhere, but information can be shared with the application. Health in iOS and Android Health Connect.
They promise that Sleepbuds will work for about 10 hours. Headphones cost $249.99. [The Verge]
