LG introduced its latest product, the StanbyMe Go. It is a bag with a built-in portable TV.
Imagine the bewildered faces of subway passengers when you pull out and open StanbyMe Go, revealing the 27-inch touchscreen with built-in battery and speakers.
But seriously, the company started selling such an unusual device outside of its own market. It can be pre-ordered for $1000. The first deliveries will begin at the end of this month.
Orders before August 27 receive a $300 LG XBoom 360 wireless speaker.
StanbyMe Go looks like a real bag and is purely for fun. The TV runs on the LG webOS platform, which allows you to install apps and view content via Wi-Fi.
There’s also an HDMI port and the ability to stream content wirelessly via AirPlay and Bluetooth. LG claims the StanbyMe Go has up to three hours of battery life.
