The Indian probe Chandrayaan-3 successfully landed on the Moon. The landing was broadcast by the Indian Space Research Organization.

The Chandrayaan-3 station will spend 14 days on the Moon: it will conduct research and study the lunar surface and soil.

India became the fourth country in the world, after the USSR, the United States and China, to have successfully landed a spacecraft on the surface of the moon. According to CNN, the Indian apparatus managed to make the closest landing in the history of launches to the south pole of the moon.

Russia tried to carry out a mission to the moon, but it failed: on August 19, the Luna-25 station crashed on the surface of the moon. According to the official reason expressed by Roskosmos, the reason for this was a malfunction of the engine – it worked for 127 seconds instead of the prescribed 84 seconds.
