Startup technology conference EMERGE is changing hands. The project is acquired by businessman Alexander Smbatyan, as reported by RB.RU.

“Over the past year, we developed a strong partnership with Alexander Smbatyan and his team. “I am pleased that EMERGE continues its mission under the leadership of someone who has been a part of our community and shares its values,” said Nilsson.

EMERGE co-founder and CEO Alina Nilsson will completely leave the project, co-founder Anna Sholina will remain a minority shareholder and will continue to support EMERGE with her expertise.

Alexander Smbatyan is a technology entrepreneur, investor, founder of the venture studio Genome Ventures, and co-founder of Intent.ai.

The EMERGE technology conference was created in 2018. The community founded by the project has more than 20 thousand participants – startups and investors – from different countries. Conference activities helped startups raise more than $30 million.
