Tech entrepreneur Alexander Smbatyan acquired startup conference EMERGE. EMERGE co-founder and CEO Alina Nilsson will be leaving the project entirely.

Startup technology conference EMERGE is changing hands. The project is acquired by businessman Alexander Smbatyan, as reported by RB.RU.
“Over the past year, we developed a strong partnership with Alexander Smbatyan and his team. “I am pleased that EMERGE continues its mission under the leadership of someone who has been a part of our community and shares its values,” said Nilsson.
EMERGE co-founder and CEO Alina Nilsson will completely leave the project, co-founder Anna Sholina will remain a minority shareholder and will continue to support EMERGE with her expertise.
Alexander Smbatyan is a technology entrepreneur, investor, founder of the venture studio Genome Ventures, and co-founder of Intent.ai.
The EMERGE technology conference was created in 2018. The community founded by the project has more than 20 thousand participants – startups and investors – from different countries. Conference activities helped startups raise more than $30 million.
