Insider Majin Boo has revealed that Apple can evaluate the transfer speeds of the new USB-C cables bundled with the iPhone 15.
Their speed will be at the level of USB 2.0, that is, 480 Mbps. This limitation alone can only affect “regular” iPhones, and in “firmware” the figure will be noticeably higher.
A similar situation is now with tablets – only the iPad Pro has Thunderbolt support. Meanwhile, the iPad Air is limited to USB-C 3.1, and the iPad 10 still has USB 2.0 despite having a USB-C connector.
Or another option is possible. The iPhones will come with a USB-C cable similar in speed to USB 2.0, Thunderbolt will be sold separately. [9to5]
