1. Dictionary
This utility allows you to look up the meanings of words in different languages or view the translation of words. In addition, there is a thesaurus lexical dictionary and an Apple glossary of terms. And the application has a built-in viewing of articles from Wikipedia.
You can turn on the “Search All Sections” tab and search for a single word in all available dictionaries.
In the settings, you can add dictionaries for other languages and disable unnecessary ones.
2. Notes
This utility allows you to use stickers with the necessary data right on your desktop. The app has been on macOS for a very long time, since when no one knew about widgets.
In each note, you can customize the font and color of the sticker. Cards can be fixed and rotated into strips to save space.
Some more options can be controlled using the keys.
3. Digital colorimeter.
A useful utility for designers and those who work with photos. A small application captures the color of any pixel on the screen and outputs its code.
You can switch between color profiles or change the size of the capture aperture. There are also some useful keyboard shortcuts:
▶ Team + L – fix the color selection zone;
▶ Command + Shift + C – copy the text value of the color;
▶ Command + Option + C – copy the selected part of the image.
4. General screen
The app allows you to remotely connect to another Mac for viewing and control.
If you need to connect to the computer of relatives or friends, this is a great alternative to TeamViewer. Unfortunately, it only works with Apple computers.
