The amount of user data in Mail.ru Cloud over the past ten years has increased 32 times and has reached 600 petabytes (1 petabyte = 1024 terabytes). One of the most popular categories of data stored on servers is photos of cats and dogs, the company said.
The volume of digital data that Mail.ru Cloud users store on the service’s servers has reached 600 petabytes. Over the past 10 years, the volume of data stored on servers has increased 10-fold, they say in Cloud Mail.ru.
Over the past year, users of the service have uploaded a total of more than 30 billion files, and photos with cats and dogs have become one of the most popular categories of this type of file.
The most active users of cloud storage are residents of the Moscow, Leningrad and Sverdlovsk regions, as well as the Krasnodar Territory.
Mail.ru Clouds user data is stored in five data centers located in Moscow. Over the past year, the service has increased the volume of its data centers by 60 petabytes.
