Yandex has introduced video creation technology using a neural network to Masterroom, the company said in a statement. In response to a user’s request, the app generates short four-second videos.
The company believes that these videos can become the basis for music videos, animations, and dynamic avatars on social media.
The app generates a four second video at 24 frames per second. Once published, they can be shared with friends or saved as MP4. The feature is currently in test mode.
To generate a video in Masterpiece, you must describe in text what you want to see. After that, the application will offer four options for the first frame and a set of animation effects to create movement.
The neural network takes the image selected by the user as a base, generates a set of its modified versions and combines everything with the selected effect. There are now seven effects: zoom, time-lapse, fly, pan, rotate, climb, and morph.
The cascading method is used to create future video frames. Using this technology, Masterpiece generates individual images. First, the neural network creates images on demand, and then increases their resolution and saturates them with detail.
In Masterpiece, you can also create images and text posts with a title and illustration. Yandex presented the application in April 2023.
