WhatsApp is testing a new feature that allows you to communicate with users of other instant messengers.
At the moment, the beta version of WhatsApp has a corresponding section called Third party messengers. But testers cannot use it.
This feature is designed to comply with the Digital Markets Act (DMA) in the European Union, which requires users of other messaging apps to be able to send messages on WhatsApp without registering with WhatsApp. This is due to the fact that WhatsApp is the messenger with the largest audience in the world.
In theory, this means Telegram and Signal users can write to WhatsApp. [WABetaInfo]
