Yandex.Market revealed for the first time the ranking factors that influence the placement of products in market search results: the most important weight for algorithms is the exact description of the product. This is stated in the message on the online platform.
- The place of the card in the search results at the request of the buyer in the Market depends on 27.5% of the product description.
- In second place are the user’s personal preferences based on browsing history, adding to cart and purchases, their weight is 25.5%.
- Price is among the top 3 factors with a weight of 18%. If the cost of the product, all other things being equal, is the same or lower than on other large platforms, the seller’s offer will appear in the market search results. A significant weight of price in the ranking of offers allows sellers to get more views and orders without using additional promotional tools.
- Additionally, the position of the product offer is influenced by the overall popularity of the product on the site (weighting 17%), its rating, seller rating and delivery time (about 12%).
According to Yandex.Market, more than half of the products that end up in the cart are found in the search query results. The rest is found in the recommendations feed, personal selections or on the service’s main page.
