There are moments that can disrupt your entire daily life, even dethrone the king of web traffic, and that’s exactly what happened to pornhubas the pornographic site par excellence ceded its crown for a few minutes to Apple and its presentation iPhone 15.
The porn site provided an account of how its numbers dwindled as the event continued.
“Starting with pre-event traffic levels, we track views on Pornhub for every new gadget introduced, from watches to iPhones. Dividing the data between audiences on Apple devices and third-party devices, it’s not surprising that there was a larger drop in traffic to Pornhub for Apple users, the largest of which occurred at 1:11 a.m. ET during the Apple Watch reveal. Series 9 and 10 – by -11.6%. The second-largest traffic drop occurred during the iPhone 15 Pro reveal at 1:56 a.m. ET, with a -11.4% drop on Apple devices.
Apple users seemed less interested in the environmental goals presented during the broadcast. Traffic in this segment was -5%. Additionally, the roadside assistance segment was also unpopular, with traffic on Pornhub at -5.6%.”
To display this, pornhub presented statistics: gray lines indicate traffic from Apple, and orange lines from Pornhub.
At the end of the Apple event, everything returned to normal:
“When the event ended, traffic for Apple users remained below average. Apparently, that day they had something to talk about with friends and colleagues. You’ll have to put off visiting your favorite black and orange website for later!” the porn company said.
