The value added tax for fast food will rise to 20% starting October 1. Interfax writes about this with reference to information from the Federal Tax Service.

Currently, hamburgers, sandwiches, cheeseburgers and other similar dishes are subject to VAT at the rate of 10% because they can be classified as non-perishable bakery products. Starting October 1, this opportunity will disappear.

“Vkusno-i tochka” noted that they plan to work according to the new rules, but did not say whether prices for products will change in relation to them.

Rostic also clarified that they work in accordance with Russian legislation.
