The agency filed a lawsuit against TikTok due to the insecurity of children’s profiles: after registration, children’s accounts are public by default. However, the regulator found no violations regarding age verification methods.
Since these violations, which were given three months to correct, were detected and changed three years ago, the social network does not agree with the decision and will object to the decision in court.
“We respectfully disagree with the decision, especially the level of fine imposed. “DCP’s criticism focuses on three-year-old features and settings that we made changes to well before the investigation began,” TikTok representatives said.
