Rupert Murdoch has announced his retirement: the 92-year-old billionaire will leave his position as president of Fox Corporation and News Corp., which he founded. He handed the reins to his eldest son, Lachlan, whom he described as a “passionate and principled” leader.

Rupert Murdoch is 92 years old. In his statement he clarified that the cessation of his work activity has no relation to his state of health.
Murdoch will officially retire in November, after which his eldest son, Lachlan, whom Murdoch himself described as a “passionate and principled” leader, will become chairman of Fox Corporation and News Corp.
Rupert Murdoch and his family are ranked 96th in the Forbes world ranking with a fortune of 10 billion dollars.
Rupert Murdoch founded News Corp in 1979. In 2013, the corporation’s business was split into two parts. 21st Century Fox included the Fox film company and network of television channels, and News Corp merged print publications including The Times, The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones. In 2017, 21st Century Fox purchased Walt Disney Corporation.
