The iPad app works similarly to the macOS version. Users need to scan a QR code from their smartphone to sync their WhatsApp chats to their iPad. In this way, users can send and receive messages on both iPhone and iPad, even if they are not on the same Wi-Fi network or close to each other.
We should also point out that although the iPad version is useful, it works as a companion application and, for example, users cannot create a new account in this version.
The general availability date of WhatsApp for iPad is unknown.
