While we were preparing the review of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, I personally appreciated and decided who could sharply present this smartphone, especially after a noticeable change in the price level in Russia.
As for me, there are now 6 categories of iPhone owners. Depending on who you relate to yourself or in fact relate to, the need to generally look towards a new iPhone or stay with the old one is determined.
I won’t write a lot – for that, it’s better to look at the review.
1. You have an old iPhone: iPhone 11, Xs, XR.
What to do: It’s time to update, no doubt. These devices are already tired. Moreover, the new iOS 17 works so-so on Xs and XR, and iOS 18 will obviously not be released for them at all.
However, I advise owners of regular iPhone 11, iPhone XS, iPhone 8, etc. not to buy the iPhone 15, iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. The latter are preferable solely because for the same money or even cheaper you will get identical hardware, a 120 Hz flashlight, the same objective photographs, plus one telephoto camera and LiDAR.
Why don’t you recommend the iPhone 15, 15 Pro or 15 Pro Max? Why do you need it, objectively, if you spent so long with an old iPhone? Taking into account the high prices in Russia for new models and not the best natural regular iPhone 15 compared to the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max, you will be completely satisfied with the previous models.
If you have an iPhone 11 Pro or Pro Max, you haven’t burned out the battery and are still completely satisfied with the performance of the hardware – only then do I see the point in waiting for the next generation. This is a big reveal.
2. You have a “regular” iPhone: iPhone 12, iPhone 13 or iPhone 14.
What to do: take the iPhone 14 Pro or Max. As already mentioned, they are better than the “regular” iPhone 15, and are even cheaper in price. The difference in performance, smoothness of animation on the display, as you will immediately notice in the photographs.
It is recommended not to be embarrassed by your large body size and look straight towards the iPhone 14 Pro Max. A large battery decides that you will adapt quickly and will not regret it.
3. You have an iPhone 12 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max.
What to do: you can wait until next year. The only exception may be dissatisfaction with the quality of photos or very frequent use of the smartphone for games. There is a really big difference in 3D performance between the 12 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max.
4. You have an iPhone 13 Pro or iPhone 13 Pro Max.
What to do: Relax, walk around easily for a year. I’m with you, I still use 13 Pro Max. Despite a lot of small interesting points, from the shape of the case to USB-C, I decided to wait for the next generation.
Looking at the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, I can easily understand those who really want it, but I can’t explain to myself why pay the cost of an advanced MacBook Pro with the newest processor for only a 10-15% better smartphone than me has already. Something like this.
5. You have an iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max.
What to do: never mind. This iPhone is better in almost everything than the basic iPhone 15 models. And in the new firmware, except for USB-C and other forms, nothing special awaits you.
Even if you take 100,500 photos and videos, and you print the part about cameras at the Apple presentation, according to reviews and reviews of the first waves, the difference in photo quality is not at all that significant. I know that crops now make them a little nicer.
6. You basically just want a new iPhone, period.
What to do: purchasing a new iPhone 15 Pro Max. There’s nothing else you can recommend here. We were all there, as they say. I want it and I can, so don’t give up on yourself.
The only thing is, I would wait for the price to drop at least a couple of weeks. But if you have the opportunity to buy it in other countries yourself or order a device through friends, then you don’t have to delay. Just remember that right now the firmware is sold out in many Apple Stores, and the issuance of pre-orders may take a couple of weeks. Consider this when planning a group or inviting colleagues/acquaintances to choose a device in a store.

What to do: hold your iPhone to your chest and don’t give it to anyone for years until it falls apart. There are no more like them 🙁
