Russia plans to create its own version of the popular game The Sims, in which characters will be held accountable for their actions, including administrative and criminal consequences. This idea was proposed by Yana Lantratova, deputy deputy chairman of the State Duma Education Committee, and a group of deputies.
The new game is expected to reflect the basics of civil law, such as taxation, payments for utilities, opening of individual businesses, loans, marriages and social benefits. However, attention will also be paid to the fight against corruption and its consequences. Players may commit illegal acts but will be subject to punishment under administrative or criminal laws.
The game will take place in different locations, including major cities, regional centers, suburbs and villages, reflecting the diversity of cultures and nationalities in Russia. The professional choice of players will also not be limited, and the game plans to introduce the basics of labor legislation and workers’ rights.
This project aims to be consistent with traditional Russian values, and the play will highlight the importance of healthy family relationships without depicting LGBT families. Additionally, the game will teach players the basics of financial literacy and the laws of the Russian Federation.
