Journalists discovered that Rutek’s R-Fon smartphone, produced in the country, looks like a copy of the Helio 80 Symphony device from Bangladesh. Mobiltelefon drew attention to the identity of the components of the two devices, after which their similarity began to be actively discussed on the Internet.

Russian antispyware “R-Fon” turned out to be almost identical to the Bangladeshi smartphone Helio

At the end of September, former Russian Minister of Communications Leonid Reiman’s Rutek company in Saransk launched production of R-Fon phones with the domestic Rosa Mobile operating system. The device is positioned as secure and anti-spyware.

After the publication of Mobiltelefon, the manufacturer commented on the information about the similarity of the gadgets.

“We have no information about the Bangladeshi smartphone that has started appearing in various media. At the same time, it is obvious that “R-FON” and a foreign smartphone are two completely different devices,” the company states in a message on Telegram.

Rutek did not deny that foreign components were used for the development. At the same time, according to the report, the company is developing a device that “meets all requirements and criteria for equipment of Russian origin established by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.”

As Mobiltelefon discovered, R-Fon and Helio 80 have the same dimensions, the same design of the camera unit and the layout of the buttons.

Only the camera module differs: the Russian model has a 50 MP camera, the Bangladeshi model has a 108 MP camera.

Journalists suggest that manufacturers from the Russian Federation and Bangladesh could license the same smartphone model produced in China.

The Russian anti-spyware product is planned to hit the consumer market in 2024. Previously, information appeared in the media that R-Fon would cost about 40 thousand rubles, but then the manufacturers denied this information. The cost of Helio 80 is about 15 thousand rubles.

Previously, at the former plant of the Renault automobile manufacturer, which left the Russian market due to the armed conflict between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, they began to assemble cars under the Moskvich brand. These cars turned out to be a copy of the Chinese JAC JS4 crossover with two modifications.
