Health&Nutrition (formerly Danone) continues to change the names of the most recognizable products on the market. Following the name change from Actimel to Actimuno, the company will change the name of its plant-based drink Alpro to Planto. This was reported by the company’s press service.
As explained in the press service, the product will retain its usual taste and composition and the manufacturing technology will not change.
The Planto brand product line will remain the same, there are two main lines and two lines of professional drinks Barista and Aroma.
The company hopes that the name change will not affect customer attitudes. H&N cites a study according to which 9 out of 10 consumers and professional baristas are willing to continue interacting with the product and recommend it to their friends even after the name change.
The localization of the brand began in 2021 with the launch of the first plant-based drinks at the production facilities of the Krasnodar Territory in Labinsk.
Danone announced the suspension of investment projects in Russia in March 2022, almost immediately after the entry of the Russian Armed Forces into Ukraine.
In July 2023, in accordance with the decree of Vladimir Putin, the foreign shares of Danone and Baltika (Carlsberg) were transferred to the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency. Subsequently, the Minister of Agriculture of the Chechen Republic, Yakub Zakriev, was appointed director of Danone Russia.
