The fact that the information security (IS) sector in Russia is facing serious problems leads to a decrease in the quality of products and services in this field. This may lead to increased prices of information security solutions due to the lack of domestic analogues. Experts expressed concern about the decline in the quality of information security products and the lack of attention to information security by large companies who prefer to pay low fines instead of investing in data protection.
Consolidation and the establishment of large cybersecurity companies are expected in the industry. This is because many players in the market offer similar solutions and the need for import substitution is increasing. However, this could also lead to technological decline and increased prices of information security products.
In the face of increasing cyber threats, companies are trying to be more proactive in ensuring their information security and using technology to detect external threats. However, there is a need to tighten liability for information security violations and develop domestic solutions to protect information.
The study shows that the number of data breaches is increasing in 2022, with the average breach reaching millions of records. Companies in the high-tech, commercial and industrial sectors were particularly vulnerable. These trends show that information security adoption has not kept pace with digital transformation.
