Blogger Brandon Booch released a video in which he compared in detail the charging speed of the iPhone 15 Pro Max with 5, 12, 20 and 30 W power supplies, as well as his own, which adapter is best suited for the smartphone.

At first glance, the answer is obvious – for the fastest charging, you need to use a 30 W power supply. But in reality the situation is a little different.

The 30W adapter actually charges the iPhone 15 Pro Max the fastest. However, the smartphone managed to accept a maximum of 27 W, and in the blogger’s test the charging power did not exceed 24.8 W. A 20 W power supply actually produces 18.5 W.

With a 30 W adapter, the iPhone 15 Pro Max was charged in 2 hours 1 minute, from a 20 W network in 2 hours 21 minutes. Over the entire period, the difference in charging did not exceed 4%.

At the same time, with a 30 W power supply, the iPhone heated up more: 114 ℃ versus 107 ℃ with a 20 W charger. This does not affect the condition of the battery in any way, but it does seem to make a difference in your hands.

The YouTuber came to the conclusion that the difference in charging speed is not worth overpaying for a 30 W unit, which heats the iPhone more and is structurally much larger than a 20 W adapter.

ps With 5 charges, the iPhone 15 Pro Max charges in 5 hours W 44 minutes. [9to5Mac]
