A cheaper additive developed for fish feed will reduce farm costs as well as increase fish weight growth and survival, scientists say.
The basis is taken from the larva of the black soldier fly, which is often used as a protein source. Scientists have found a way to obtain oil for feed from it, and also created a mathematical model of the entire processing process.
As scientists report, the mathematical model makes it possible to analyze the performance of the press and find out the influence of its design, as well as all the characteristics of the larvae on the resulting product.
