The Union of Alcohol Producers (Rosspirtprom, ASG, Novabev Group, Ladoga, etc.) proposed in September to increase the minimum price for vodka by 7% in 2024. Kommersant writes about this with reference to a copy of the organization’s appeal to the Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

The minimum cost of vodka in Russia can exceed 300 rubles.

It is proposed to increase the minimum sales prices from 229 to 243 rubles, in the wholesale segment from 238 to 253 rubles, and in retail trade from 281 to 301 rubles per 0.5 liter bottle.

The excise tax on vodka is scheduled to increase next year by 5% to 128.6 rubles per 0.5 liter bottle, the authors of the appeal say. Manufacturers’ logistics costs have increased and packaging, ingredients and closures have become more expensive due to the devaluation of the ruble.

The union estimates that production costs could increase by at least 10% this year. Increasing prices, in his opinion, will avoid reducing production and selling below cost.

According to experts, exceeding the barrier of 300 rubles may be noticeable to some buyers and cause market stagnation.
