Kuo’s research found that Microsoft will be the largest customer of AMD’s AI chips in 2024, with more than 50% of its shipments going to the tech giant, followed by Amazon. Google is also currently testing AMD chips for artificial intelligence. AMD primarily targets cloud service providers (CSPs).

Looking ahead to 2025, CSPs are expected to continue to be primary customers of AMD’s AI chips. If AMD’s cooperation with Microsoft improves and it receives orders from Google, its supply of accelerators could increase significantly and eventually reach or exceed 30% of NVIDIA’s market share, Kuo writes.
