Every third seller in the markets has started a business with an investment of up to 50 thousand rubles. According to a study by Skillbox and Wildspace, the easiest categories for newcomers to such platforms are home goods, pet products and clothing.

37% of sellers in the markets launched a business with an investment of up to 50 thousand rubles: study

A third of sellers already trading on the markets consider 50 thousand rubles to be the optimal investment to launch their business on e-commerce platforms of this type. This is clear from the results of a study carried out by Skillbox and the Wildspace design studio.

Approximately the same number of respondents (37%, those who do not yet trade in the markets) believe that 50 thousand rubles will be enough to start sales in the markets. About a quarter of respondents named this amount up to 250 thousand rubles, about 20% are sure that 100 thousand rubles will be enough.

Respondents named home goods (33%), pet products (22%) and clothing (15%) as the “easiest” categories to enter markets.

More than a third of the sellers surveyed buy products for sale in other countries (mainly in China), 25% have their own production, and 18% buy products wholesale from domestic manufacturers.

According to the results of the survey, the most popular form of promotion in the markets was the internal tools of the sites: advertising on banners, advertising of products in the catalog, promotions and bonuses.

The study was conducted among 8,000 respondents, who lived mainly in Russian cities with a population of more than 1 million people.
