3G networks in Russia will be completely switched off in 2027. This was stated by the director of the department of state regulation of the telecom market of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation Dmitry Tur, referring to the planned decisions of the State Commission on Radio Frequencies.
The corresponding resolution has already been submitted to the government and could be adopted before the end of this year. In addition to shutting down 3G, it also provides for the continuation of fixed wireless Internet access in major cities in 2025.
