More than 1 million school children took part in the first week of the project, which started on October 16 and will last until November 12.

The regions with the highest interest in the IT sector include Chechnya, Belgorod, Orenburg, Samara, Rostov, Chelyabinsk, Omsk and Novosibirsk regions, as well as Stavropol, Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar regions, Moscow and the Moscow region.

“We tell millions of schoolchildren about the most popular areas of the IT industry, select the most relevant topics to introduce them to the world of technology,” said Anna Stepanova, VK’s vice president for educational projects.

Thus, the Digital Lesson project contributes to the formation of a new generation of IT specialists important for the development of Russia’s digital economy.
