9to5Mac reported that Apple is testing tvOS 17 on the iPad mini 6.

Every firmware released by the company includes support for files that determine which device the software can be installed on. This operating system is used in Apple TV and HomePod.

The tvOS 17 SDK, which is used in Xcode 15, includes behind-the-scenes support for the iPad mini 6. Some of the tvOS 17 frameworks that contain per-device audio mode data support this system, and have also been updated with drivers for the iPad mini.

Such findings may hint that the Cupertino team is developing a HomePod with a display that will look like the iPad mini. Other sources previously reported about the column with a display, which will be released in 2024. [9to5]
