The airport development project envisages new facilities that can serve 800 thousand passengers and carry 50 thousand tons of cargo per year to be operational by 2027. However, an important aspect of this development is the unique architectural appearance that should reflect the characteristics of the region.

In this context, Governor Mikhail Evraev announced an open competition to develop visualizations of new airport buildings. The competition is organized by Yaroslavl State Technical University and the Aerofuels company, which will also act as investors in the project.
