Security experts have investigated the capabilities of the ChatGPT chatbot, which could be used to plan fake attacks and send phishing emails. The authors compiled several such letters, and some were generated by artificial intelligence. The letters were then shown to the experiment participants.
The good news is that people were able to distinguish phishing texts written by others from emails generated by the neural network, and the “AI lost by a small margin.” A quick reading of the letters did not arouse suspicion.
For unwary users, such letters can be convincing.
