How will the new Xiaomi Hyper OS shell differ from MIUI? Actually there isn’t much difference. In general, Xiaomi wants to release this shell to combine all its devices into a single system. That is, smartphones, smart watches, headphones, etc.

The first significant difference between Xiaomi Hyper OS and MIUI is that it takes up less space: 31.9 GB versus 29.5 GB.

The overall style of the shell has changed slightly. Icons in general are starting to look more like icons on iOS. When you connect the charger and various devices to the smartphone, a new animation appears at the top of the screen (see images below).

System apps like notes and clocks have been redesigned to make it easier for you to use your smartphone with one hand. The same goes for the gallery and file manager.

The appearance of the “curtain” has also changed. Icons now take up the entire bottom of the screen and a player widget has appeared. In general, the “curtain” is now even more similar in design to the “curtain” in iOS.

A new “Wallpaper and Personalization” section has appeared. You can now change themes, wallpaper, icon size, font and configure Always On Display in a single menu.

The “Privacy” section combines the two sections. Here you can see who accessed your camera, microphone, and location and how many times in the last week. This section also has a stealth mode.

In Xiaomi Hyper OS you can not only rotate the “floating windows”, but also change their size. Apps can be expanded up to half the screen.

The “Sound and Vibration” section has been redesigned. Vibration has been moved to a separate tab. Additionally, in the new shell you can activate another slider responsible for the volume of notifications.

In the “Battery” section you can see information about the battery’s status, temperature and the number of charging cycles today. Optimized night charging and optimized night mode are also activated here.

The Screen Time section has become much clearer. Now it will be easier to see how many times a day you turn on your smartphone and which applications you use.

Additionally, you can now separate the image from the background and elsewhere using a touch like on iOS. Now it is possible to change the background of the photo at your discretion.
