The mayor of the capital added that more than 4 thousand information fields with these codes have been installed on signs leading to historical monuments, memorial buildings and places associated with the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, as well as outstanding cultural and scientific figures.

You can scan the QR codes on these signs using your phone’s camera, and a short biography of the hero or an interesting story about an event related to the place and the optimal route to this object will appear on the screen.

Sergei Sobyanin noted that this initiative began three years ago in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and continues today. Objects related to aviation history have been highlighted this year, and signs related to Arctic exploration are planned to be installed by the end of the year.
