The traffic police proposed introducing a new restriction related to riding electric scooters.

As stated by the deputy head of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate in Moscow, Evgeniy Loginovsky, over 10 months there were about 300 accidents involving personal mobility devices (IM). And all are perfect, they involve minors.

At the same time, the speaker of the Moscow City Duma, Alexey Shaposhnikov, proposed banning riding scooters while intoxicated.

Violation of the ban on driving a vehicle while intoxicated should cause a person the same responsibility as provided for in the Code of Administrative Offenses for driving a vehicle while intoxicated.

The Moscow City Duma proposes to establish in the traffic rules a ban on SIM passengers leaving the scene of an accident and consuming alcohol and other substances after an accident. It is also necessary to oblige them to provide assistance to the victims.

In addition, the Moscow traffic police proposed to estimate the speed of electric scooters at 20 km/h throughout the capital.

The current limit is 25 km/h, but there are also slow zones where the speed is limited to 5-15 km/h. [Интерфакс]
