Telegram channels that are in the top 10 by audience and work on economic topics receive 315 million rubles of income per year, writes Kommersant, citing a study by the Association of Bloggers and Agencies (ABA), the FeedBack center and the Pochva influence agency.
The study indicates that economic channels are the most profitable on Telegram. The reason is richer advertisers. As the association points out, the analysts took into account in their investigations articles of a “strongly expressed” advertising nature. Income information is based on publicly available market price data for the placements.
In the period from August to October, the Banksta channel (an aggregator of business, banking and finance news) became the most profitable. Banksta’s main advertisers are Alfa-Bank, Sberbank and Promsvyazbank.
Companies publish between 80 and 130 advertising posts per month on the channel. The channel’s revenue during this period amounted to 39.2 million rubles, which is 4% more than last year.
“However, the channel shows a general trend for the segment: a decrease in average coverage with a growth in revenue,” ABA noted.
Currently, just over 318 thousand people have subscribed to Banksta.
The most significant increase in income during this period was shown by the “Banks, Money, Two Offshores” channel. It has around 300,000 subscribers and revenue from August to October was up 45% compared to the same period last year. Revenue amounted to 18.3 million rubles.
ABA drew attention to the fact that the growth in revenue was not accompanied by an increase in viewership.
The Spydell_finance channel, written by financier Pavel Ryabov, showed the lowest profitability, and the resource itself is dedicated to various thematic analyzes). Spydell_finance’s revenue from August to October fell by 7% year-on-year and amounted to 1.2 million rubles.
Revenue from “Rabbit with Neglinnaya” fell even further, according to the study. The channel’s advertising revenue decreased by 40% and amounted to 2 million rubles during the indicated period.
ABA concluded that total revenue in Telegram’s economic segment increased by 11%.
