Emmet Shear, former CEO of streaming service Twitch, may become the new head of OpenAI, Bloomberg has learned. According to the agency, Sam Altman will not return to his position.

The media found out who will replace Sam Altman as CEO of OpenAI

Earlier this month, the company’s board of directors fired CEO Sam Altman. The reason was a “loss of trust”: the company conducted an audit and decided that the senior manager “was not forthright in communicating with the board of directors, which interfered with his ability to perform his duties.”

The media, however, wrote that Altman could return to the position of general director, but this would require changes in the management structure.

Sources told Bloomberg that the board did not listen to the opinions of investors who proposed reinstating Altman. The board believes that Emmett Shear, who ran Twitch, should take the leadership position.

Previously, the media wrote that Altman himself decided not to return to the company.

President of the League of Independent Information Technology Experts Sergei Karelov, citing former IBM colleague Carlos E. Perez, writes that the situation with Sam Alman is just a diversionary maneuver by the company’s management.

“They don’t understand what to do in a situation where OpenAI researchers have discovered a new emerging cognitive ability in their model: independently finding new information “on the fly” (that is not in their database), allowing the model “functions beyond the knowledge formed in the training stage and, therefore, limited to a set of training data,” Pérez is quoted as saying.

UPDATE 11:34

Sam Altman is going to work at Microsoft, about it reported Satya Nadella, CEO of technology corporation X (formerly Twitter).

“We are excited to share the news that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, along with their colleagues, will join Microsoft to lead a new cutting-edge research group in the field of artificial intelligence.” he wrote.
