Apple has patented removable batteries for the Vision Pro helmet.
The company’s developed system solves several problems at once:
• the comfort of using a helmet behind a counterweight increases, so that the center of gravity moves to another point and you can be in the device
• a removable battery can be attached to the back of the headband
• creating a portable Vision Pro cable organizer
A similar solution is used in the Elite Strap for Meta* Quest 2. However, the battery cannot be replaced there; it is immediately inserted into the headband.
Meta is recognized as an extremist organization and is banned in Russia
Vision Pro batteries can be mounted on the head, borrowing them from Meta.
Apple’s decision to use tethered Vision Pro batteries raised some eyebrows when the new product was announced.
