A clinical study in India also found that cinnamon can improve blood sugar levels, reduce waist size and reverse metabolic syndrome. This study, published in 2017 in the journal Lipids in Health and Disease, compared the effects of taking 3 grams of cinnamon supplements daily for 16 weeks versus taking a placebo at the same time. At the end of the experiment, it was revealed that people taking cinnamon lost weight and their blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol decreased.
