Google has confirmed that Google Drive has a bug causing old files to drop out.

Previously, users of the cloud service complained about this problem, who noticed that files that had been stored on the disk for several months or years suddenly disappeared. In some cases, data is removed from Google Sheets.

One Google user reported that he lost data from a table that he regularly updated for almost five years. Another person had Google Drive rolled back to May 2023, deleting all of the data for six months.

According to Google, there is a problem, a possibility, a problem with the latest versions of the Google Drive app for Mac and PC. The company advises you to unlink your account from the application for now and not manage the DriveFS switch, which stores program data. Users are advised to back up their data whenever possible.
