The latest news that came from the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniakwas not entirely reassuring, since “Woz” suffered a minor stroke while attending a conference in Mexico.
But now information from Serbia indicates that the country’s President Aleksandar Vucic has just granted him Balkan citizenship.
Wozniak said he was “very lucky” to be in Serbia and that he and his wife Janet, who is also receiving a passport, would now “promote” Serbia. He said he would become a Serb living in the USA.
Vucic told a joint news conference in Belgrade that it was “a great honor for Serbia” to hand over the passports to Wozniak and his wife.
“Now we can proudly say that the computer genius is Serbian,” Vucic said.
“Nobody paid him to come to Serbia, to be completely clear,” Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said.
Of course, the surname Wozniak comes from the Polish woźny, which means “educator, servant.”
