The laboratory received a grant of 1.5 million rubles from the Russian Science Foundation, which will be used to purchase equipment. The main aim is to examine the technological characteristics of 20th-century paintings, including a variety of styles such as harsh realism, heroic-patriotic realism, everyday and landscape painting.

It is planned to create a database that will enable a comprehensive analysis of the works and determine the conditions of storage, restoration and exhibition of the works, as well as extending their useful life in their original form. The first paintings to be examined will include works by famous Siberian artists and will be published in scientific articles and monographs.
