The percentage of Russians planning to give New Year’s gifts this year increased by 6% compared to 2022. The budget also increased – up to 14,300 rubles per person. This is demonstrated by the results of the SuperJob survey provided by the service’s press service.
82% of respondents said they would give gifts for the New Year, up 6% from the previous year. Among men, the percentage of those who plan to donate something is lower: 78% compared to 87% among women.
However, the vacation budget for men is almost 1.5 times larger: 16.7 thousand rubles versus 11.6 thousand. Compared to last year, the planned spending on gifts increased by 14%, from 12.5 thousand rubles.
Moscow will be the country that will spend the most on gifts: an average of 18 thousand rubles. Among the three cities with more than a million inhabitants in terms of vacation budget are also Krasnoyarsk (17.2 thousand) and Rostov-on-Don (16.5 thousand).
In most cases, survey participants admitted that they would give something to their family (72%), their partner (36%), their friends (23%) and themselves (17%). The proportion of respondents planning gifts for colleagues increased 6% over the year, from 8% to 14%.
